I became obsessed with volcanoe's in my Earth Science class and searched for books on volcanoes in the library. I came across a particular YA series that sounded really interesting. This book is exactly what i wanted to read. I wanted to read something similar to a zombie apocolypse. A "What if" book so to speak. It immediately caught my interest because it deals with the eruption of the Yellowstone supervolcano. I think I finished this book in 3 days because of how well written it is. I am always a little hesitant when it comes to these new YA books because some of them are just to modern. This story is very modern but the author writes in a certain way that modernization blends nicely into the story. Although this book is science fiction the topic is extremely realistic. I highly recommend this series to fans of science fiction and to fans of apocolyptic stories. I don't want to give too much away but the story takes place in an area fairly close to yellowstone. The beginning really pulls you into the story. Alex is a normal teenager with normal teenage boy quality's. It was a normal day before the eruption occured. Something you would have never expected. This is a good example of not taking life for granted and that anything can happen in a blink of an eye.
